A hub for Serious Games and digital technology

Digital technology is a broad sector, covering electronics and controls, programming and software development, digital information, digital media (like internet, cloud computing, and software applications), and digital infrastructure (such as broadband, wi-fi, and 4G). Coventry and Warwickshire is particularly strong in the areas of digital media and the development of various communications tools and software applications.

Why Coventry & Warwickshire?

We are the UK hub for Serious Games and home to the Serious Games Institute (SGI), a global leader in smart spaces. Also UK hub for the gaming industry with leading computer games companies based locally; Blitz, Codemaster, Pixel Learning, CBTL and CNUK TV.

Indeed the SGI and the cluster surrounding it are Europe’s fasting growing area of games activity.

We have the latest development and testing with industrial partners which sets Coventry and Warwickshire apart and makes us the ideal location for Serious Games companies - and our digital technology expertise is a high value asset. 80% of top 1000 Corporates will to use Games technology in next 18 months to support training, marketing, recruitment and process (Gartner 2011) and Serious Games capability is scarce across all market sectors and demand is rising.
