Our region is gearing up to bring powers from Westminster to the West Midlands.
On Thursday 4th May, local residents go to the polls to vote for the first ever West Midlands Mayor. The Mayor will head up the West Midlands Combined Authority but most importantly, they’ll work for you.
Through innovative and collaborative working, the Mayor will help improve the region’s transport, housing, skills and training opportunities; creating growth, jobs and a better future for our region.
They’ll help boost local businesses by championing the region nationally and internationally and driving economic growth. Large local projects will be brought to life with an investment fund aimed at delivering improvements across the whole region.
By bringing together the people of Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton, partners, businesses and other communities, we’re set to make history. Get involved by voting on Thursday 4th May for the West Midlands Mayor and you’re in too.
This is the first opportunity the region has had to make decisions affecting local people at a local level, rather than in Whitehall or Westminster.
Don’t miss out on making your family’s future happier, healthier and more prosperous.
