Councillor Jill Simpson-Vince was appointed as Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Growth & Investment at Rugby Borough Council in May 2019.

Jill has been a Borough Councillor for Coton & Boughton Ward since May 2014 and a Warwickshire County Councillor for Brownsover & Coton Park since May 2017.

Jill is also the Constituency Organiser and election agent for the local Conservative Party in Rugby.

In her spare time she is also a Trustee for Learning Today Leading Tomorrow Trust, which currently runs two free schools in Rugby.

Jill is also a committee member for the Eden Park Community Association and the Coton Park Residents Association.

Her involvement in local government started when on maternity leave. Coton Park was advised to do a neighbourhood plan, which Jill led as a volunteer – completing the first one in Warwickshire. That led to her becoming a local councillor, where she then served 3 years as Chair of the Planning Committee from 2016 - 2019, before being promoted to the Cabinet.

Prior to all of this Jill worked for various businesses in London, Paris and Oxford, her last role having been within a business psychology consultancy.
