Mike Hall has been Leader of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council since May 2015 and is passionate about the Council's ability to be an active member of the CWLEP.

"Sitting on the border of the East and West Midlands, Hinckley and Bosworth is well placed to deliver economic growth at the heart of the Midlands Engine."

Mike was born and raised in Leicestershire and, with sponsorship from Alfred Herbert Ltd, gained a Production Engineering Degree at Coventry University. Having then worked for Leicester based Manufacturing Company Barrington Products for five years, Mike returned to the West Midlands to become a Business Systems Engineer with Lucas Industries.

For the next 25 years Mike delivered business improvement programmes with many national and international businesses spanning automotive, aerospace, FMCG, nuclear power and health sectors, eventually as a Programme Manager delivering IT led Transformation Programmes.

Mike is chair of the influential A5 partnership which seeks to improve the traffic flow between the M6 and M1 as a key route across the East and West Midlands, and which on an almost daily basis causes traffic issues for local people.

As a member of CWLEP I hope to bring more jobs to this region, and to make sure that people from all backgrounds have access to the training and skills necessary to take the opportunities which are created.
