The decision to appoint a new chair of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) has been delayed by the coronavirus outbreak.
Interviews to appoint Jonathan Browning’s successor have been postponed due to the on-going Covoid-19 situation.
The current vice-chair Nick Abell has been appointed by the board of directors as interim chair from Wednesday, April 1, to maintain strong, clear leadership.
Jonathan will remain as a CWLEP board director until a permanent new chair is appointed and provide support to his successor to ensure a smooth transition.
He said: “I am very grateful to Nick for agreeing to this added commitment, he has been an integral part of the LEP board for seven years and a very active and effective vice-chair since 2017. This move will ensure the LEP does not miss a beat during these testing times.
“We all hope this transition period and the underlying coronavirus crisis will be resolved as rapidly as possible as we work our way through these challenges as a strong, unified team across Coventry and Warwickshire.
“The CWLEP has been integral in ensuring a joined-up approach among the public and private sector in recent years and that has resulted in a united, coherent area which will be even more important to support businesses in the weeks and months ahead.”
