Vocational Learning Tech Fund now open

Friday 24th of April 2015 12:00 AM

Are you an innovator in the vocational learning field? Have you developed a basic digital prototype which could be developed further?

We are looking for proposals that demonstrate the potential use of digital technology in novel and imaginative ways to develop new services or improve access and delivery of adult vocational learning. This programme will provide funding to help ventures in developing their ideas into a more robust digital product or service.

Successful applicants can each expect to receive grant funding, typically between £15,000 and £50,000. Funding will be awarded for a maximum period of 12 months. Ufi Charitable Trust does not ask for an equity stake, nor request loan repayments. Successful ventures retain any IP developed with this funding.

The Vocational Learning Tech Fund is driven by Ufi’s view that current education and training systems are not solving the long-term problems of skills shortages.

We believe that technology has a great part to play in helping adults to get the skills needed for work in the 21st century, by making vocational learning quicker, more flexible and affordable. Many people have not been engaged by traditional teaching and learning methods and digital technology provides new ways to access peers, content, experts and new experiences.

This is why Ufi Charitable Trust has decided to launch The Vocational Learning Tech Fund to support UK-based entrepreneurs and organisations to build innovative tech-led vocational teaching and learning solutions. We are looking for innovations that utilise technology to improve learning; teaching and training of adults; and assessment of vocational learning.

By supporting digital innovations that improve how people develop skills for work, we believe we can make a long term difference and support a shift in how vocational adult learning is provided to support individuals and employers.
