Connect Me will support at least 909 unemployed and economically inactive residents; with priority given to people with disabilities, people with mental health difficulties, women, people from ethnic minorities and people aged 50+ living in Coventry through its network of 9 specialist delivery partners, each best placed to understand the often unique and complex barriers which deter and prevent long-term unemployed and inactive people who are furthest from the labour market from engaging in employment focused programmes.
Participants will benefit from a person centred approach with an emphasis on providing intensive, flexible and tailored support which meets the needs of the individual. Engagement activity will take place in Coventry’s priority wards and across the city, using effective approaches that partners have previously implemented as well as developing new and creative ways of reaching out to people. New approaches will include training volunteers to become Connect Me Champions. Connect Me delivery partners are Coventry City Council’s Employment Team and Independent Travel Training Team, Foleshill Womens Training, Life Path Trust, Coventry University, Coventry University Social Enterprise CIC, Rethink, WM Housing and Voluntary Action Coventry.
