This fund is available to create new facilities at Further Education Colleges to deliver skills demanded by local employers across Coventry and Warwickshire.

Some of the projects funded by the Skills Capital Programme include:

  • A new centre to provide learning space in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical (STEM) skills at Warwickshire College in Leamington Spa.
  • Development of a mezzanine floor within Warwickshire College’s construction training facility in Leamington Spa to deliver NVQ Level 3 courses and apprenticeships.
  • A new Digital Industries Network & Telecomms Centre at City College
  • A new CAD & LEAN Manufacturing Centre at City College
  • £140,000 for new projects

What will the project achieve?

  • Create 1,200 square metres of new learning space.
  • Generate 1,200 new learners per annum.
  • Create 730 new apprenticeship opportunities, particularly within construction and AME.
  • Generate £8.5m in GVA within the local economy.
